Sophie & Thorin Painting

Thorin was my orange tabby cat who thought he was a dog. Students, knowing I was an animal defender, brought me two kittens from a crack house...it's sidewalk, in Washington Heights, NYC. I made an appointment for the boy and girl to be neutered but the day scheduled for the female's surgery, she gave birth to four tiny kittens under my son's bed. We kept the fourth kitten and named him Thorin. He had five families, I found out after he died. He lived for 15 years and lounged in the yard, and followed me to the river with my dogs to swim and visited the park with us when we played scrabblee. Thorein even went swimming twice with me! This painting was done from a photograph of my Cavachon Sophie and our cat Thorein relaxing on a lazy Summer day..
