ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Here is my painting on the theme of hope and faith and fifth in my series on Bells. These bells are inspired by my visit to the Gorakhal temple in Nainital. The temple has over 1 lac bells, devotees there offer bells to God as a gesture of devotion. I have always believed in the power of Art for spreading positive vibes and especially during these trying times, this painting is an effort towards that. I have tried to paint this in such a manner that the viewer can almost hear the sound of the bells. Done with base colour tones of red and gold symbolising divinity, I have also experimented with some motifs on the painting, and have used the spatula for colour application to give it an edgy, contemporary feel to a time-defying symbol of divinity.

Anukta’s magical strokes breathe a symphony of the world around her, as she goes about celebrating life through her colors. The horizon of her works is beyond the boundaries of categorization. Just as many India(s) breathe within one India, having had a multi-city upbringing and career, Anukta gives an ode to that diversity through her works.   Ever inspired by the spaces she inhabits, the places she visits and the people she meets, her works are mostly personal insights and associations from the ordinary to the obvious. Colors, forms and lines play a special interest in her works done mostly in contemporary realistic style. Rising above from her corporate avatar of over a decade, Anukta bid adieu to her successful career and embarked on a new adventure to complete a two year online Diploma course in drawing and painting  with a certificate of distinction from the London School of Art, while also honing her skills through guidance from professional artists. For Anukta painting is not merely about the end result. in a world that is standing at the brink of chaos, Anukta believes in the redemptive power of art. Her strokes cast a magical spell of positivity and cheerfulness on the audience, reaching not only the heart but the very soul of those who take respite in art.  Anukta’s paintings have been exhibited in solo and group shows across India and abroad. Her paintings and commissioned projects adorn homes and corporate houses across India and worldwide in the US, UK, New Zealand and Dubai. Among her noted commissioned works are the ones for ITC Ltd., and Speciality Restaurants Ltd. ( London). At present her works can be viewed online through a renowned online Gallery in Paris or via her own website. Her works are also selected as a repository for viewing through Google Book and she owns the copyright of the images.
