Sparkling Splash of Colours Painting

I was born and raised in West Sussex, England and now live with my husband and two children in a beach house just along the coast from Brighton. I am a professional artist and very lucky to be able to paint from my home studio which looks across a pebble beach, straight out to sea. Inspired by the sea….I am a seascape and abstract artist and I create a magnetic visual escape for others to find a sense of happiness, exhilaration, and relaxation. I paint onto canvas using acrylics and then I apply glossy resin finishes to each piece to enhance and create the illusion of glassy water. I remember spending much of my spare time as a child colouring and painting and filling endless sketchbooks with detailed drawings of the Sussex countryside where I grew up. My appreciation of space, beauty and light that began at an early age continued to develop throughout my life. Now that I live on a beach, the stunning, ever changing sea views provide constant inspiration for my contemporary seascape paintings. My home studio is flooded with an amazing quality of light which bounces off the sea all year round. This is uniquely captured in my work through the use of colours, the metallic and pearlised threads of detail and glasslike resin finishes which coat my watery creations. I portray the atmosphere of the shoreline and the endless ocean waves with clean and alluring blues, the movement of the colours, and fascinating compositions. Sunsets, surf waves and underwater coral reefs are beautifully painted in such a unique way that my work has become widely collected. I work magic on my canvas. Each painting has, when you come closer to it, beautiful complexities inside the glassy surface of the medium. My paintings portray a certain energy. Dancing waves crashing against the serene shoreline are many times depicted and successfully achieved. I carefully mix and combine enthralling colours, building up each piece one layer at a time, using my knowledgeable control of the flow of the resin, with perfect touches of hues here and there. I seek to captivate my audience by sharing my constant awe of the unique beauty and magnificence of the sea. When I am not painting waves and the ocean, I create mesmerising abstracts full of movement and energizing colour. Working full time as a professional artist I permanently exhibit at the prestigious and long established Art5 Gallery in the famous Brighton Lanes and am their best selling artist.
