However, the story is left to the viewer to finish and complete. “I paint like I imagine a novelist writes. Several drafts, studies, and even when I finally get to the canvas the process can take a long period of time. You can see the process in the painting and so the viewer becomes a co-creator,” says Hector. “The ultimate goal is to create something that continues to inspire new ideas and new stories even after several viewings. To inspire is everything.” Hector is a member of the Burr Oak Art Cooperative based in Austin, Minnesota.
