Yep! It all ‘splashed’ rather fast. In working out a balance in the mix of reds & blues, I forgot to snap the usual many photos of the work in progress. But I guess my mind was on the work at hand, balancing the ‘splashes’ of color. This is all about water, swimming. This could be poolside, beach… Acrylic colour on acid free watercolour paper 285gm , 20 x 25 in., 51 x 63 cm. The close up picture is of higher resolution to give a better sense of the paint, paper and the brush stroke. Then there’s the work in progress, and me with the painting for perspective. I'm Canadian born now residing in Malaysia. I've been working professionally as an artist since 1980 ish… time flies. I have exhibited my paintings in Vancouver and coastal B.C., Bangkok, Singapore & Malaysia, areas I’ve lived in over time. Now I do it all online. I’ve traveled extensively over the years and you’ll see that people, places and cultures are a recurring theme in my art. I attach importance to papers I use for my paintings. Some are done on acid free watercolour papers, from 180lb weight to 300lb. I also use handmade parchment type papers. These are thick yet pliable, strong, with deckled edge that add to the look of my paintings. I’m still a passionate guy. I’m passionate about life and people, passionate about art and painting. And I feel really at my best when I’m putting all these things down on paper. I only wish I had more time to delve into all these activities of mine. But I work with what I have. My health sucks so I’m slowing down. And there's more: book illustration, portrait, comic strip, caricature. I also work with camera and computer, to create the images brush strokes just can't deliver. So follow my brush work and hopefully you’ll find that special painting meant just for you.
