About The Artwork

Nail Polish on 24x24x1.5" Gallery Wrapped Canvas. Part of the Squarism Collection: Jewel was painted in a grid pattern, designed with happy, harmonious repetition! She was so fun to paint. Believe me, she took a very long time, but oh so worth it. I painted her with finger nail polish!! All her colors are jewel tones and she has sheens and subtle sparkle that can't be seen in the picture. Minimalistic but so full of character. She's a gem!

Jenni Allen, a Texas abstract artist, utilizes acrylics and various materials to create her distinctive grid designs, infusing them with dynamic energy reminiscent of a canvas dance. Her background in dance, choreography, and music, combined with organizational skills, is evident in her work. She employs a unique grid structure that balances order and emotion, often drawing inspiration from specific songs to infuse her pieces with feeling, movement, and harmonious colors. Jenni likens her art process to choreography, where planned structure forms a base, and spontaneous flow conveys messages connecting with viewers' experiences. Her goal is to craft visual music and a colorful dance on canvas, sparking captivating conversations. In her words, "I hope when you look at my art, it sparks interest and creates conversation!" – Jenni (also known as Jennifer) Allen. She was always drawing and doodling during childhood. In the 90s, she was obsessed with M C Escher and the way he used repetition and geometry. She painted her walls at home with black and white squares and geometric patterns. That's where it all began. "My paintings come from my wild visual imagination. I can see everything I read and hear. My dreams are in vivid colors, so, of course, I paint that way! It’s fun to express myself with colors, lines and texture. I love to give life to a canvas and see the painting take on its own personality! It's exciting, almost like having a child!” -Jenni Allen Her current theme is all about grids and currently working on Hearts for Happy and Squarism Collections! Hearts for Happy comes out of her passion for awareness of mental health in kids. Each square represents an experience, whether it’s sad, happy, mistakes or trials- it all comes together in a beautiful and meaningful heart full of life. Squarism comes from her love of patterns and decoration. After years of studying geometric art and color theory, she is putting her knowledge and love down on canvas with intricate detail, hard edges, squares and beautiful, symbolic color combinations!
