The painting shows Our Lady in a purple dress. A yellow ribbon in her veil reminds of the yellow dress of Sta. María de la Caridad del Cobre, the patron saint of Cuba. The Blessed Virgin embraces and protects the Church and also the people who seek and find refuge and contemplation in her. The Church and Our Lady bear together in the image the Holy Cross, which unites us all. The sky above the Church and the Virgin is violet, the color of mourning. Mourning, compassion and repentance is needed in the face of the destruction and abuse of our earth. Violet is also the color of change and change is needed. But the sky itself is not only violet, but is illuminated by yellow warm lights, signs of joy, hope and knowledge, divine knowledge. Materials: Canvas: Strong, professional quality, 250g/m2 Acrylic colors: All pigments are of mineral origin and of the very highest light fastness. The painting is protected by a semi-gloss transparent acrylic varnish of the highest quality. Finish: The image consists of 25000 light points superimposed on each other. where the face itself consists of about 15000 points I have chosen this elaborate technique to emphasize the spiritual character of expression and to give the image the living, vibrant character of that world beyond ours. Availability: Will be available for sales from May 2022 onward.

« I paint and darkness becomes light» José Gislero is an experienced Swiss painter who focuses on sensual, spiritual art. He lives and works between two islands: Switzerland, the island in the middle of the European Union and Cuba the communist island in the Caribbean Sea.
