Stand Out Fit In - Pale-headed Rosella By HSIN LIN 20/09/2022 40.6cm (W) x 50.8cm (H) x 1.5cm (D) Artist Acrylic on Acid-free canvas. Sealed with clear spray varnish. Signed at the front, sides painted and ready to hang. Comes with a certificate of authenticity. Painted with palette knife and brushes. Affirmation: The world is your colour palette, let’s colour the mood and journey bright. As many of you may know I don’t paint birds often, but when I do it’s normally a self-projection. This artwork was inspired by my visit to the Ballarat Bird World. I spent a wonderful day observing all our precious Australian Native Birds. Rosella has the spiritual meaning of eternal love, devotion, or a shared journey in life. Pale-headed Rosella (Platycercus adscitus) are common in Australia, their vivid hues enriching the colour in nature whenever we see them. The Pale yellow and blue rosella can be easily identified by its iconic white and yellow head. Endemic to eastern Australia. Occurs in a wide range of open habitats, and mostly in pairs rather than large flocks. The latest piece of my animal series -THE VOICE OF NATURE –. HSIN LIN, Award-winning Artist based in Melbourne, Australia. In Hsin Lin’s ongoing, signature contemporary floral series that feature native and common flowers we know, flowers represent life and each different type of flower has a unique symbolic meaning. Lin is inspired by her close observation of the natural world. Through a process of careful looking Lin is able to capture an incredible amount of intricate detail. To create the larger-scale work, Lin normally spends 6-12 months developing the intricate composition. The fine details such as the tiny petals have been developed through ten or more layers of paint. Lin describes that ‘although still-life is considered a traditional genre, each object in the paintings stands for a different meaning and has its own story. Flowers represent us as humans, vases represent the body carrying our soul, protecting us like a shield. The weaving basket stands for connections—the bonds between families, friends and all the people around us. Even if you are apart, everyone is still being linked together as a whole and we are stronger together.’ Lin’s paintings, a series of flowers in full bloom, remind us that we are alive and that life is vibrant, blossoming and full of potential.
