ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This work is fun and a tribute to drawing. I wanted to use a large canvas of cotton duck as a support to draw-paint the starlings that I saw from my window and I made some quick and free strokes with charcoal on the canvas while I watched the birds feed in my patio. Then I fixed it with very diluted thin coats of casein glue. The result is very expressive and has a touch of abstraction. Shipped in a tube. https://annabelandrews.eu/online-exhibition/

Annabel Andrews was born in the Isle of Wight in 1940 now lives and works in El Escorial near Madrid Spain, where the colour, light and volumes of the mountains inspire her work. As also her friendship with the late Spanish artists Pablo Palazuelo and Jose Guerrero. By preparing her own canvases with home made casein glue base and zinc white the work is light and luminous ready for applying acrylic colours.
