ABOUT THE ARTWORK
The subject represents pebbles in a mountain stream. Water flows in places. The drawings that this formed are interesting. With this series of paintings, the artist goes out of his comfort zone because there is no drawing strictly speaking and that is precisely the point. There are shapes, of course, stones, but water distorts. We spot the trace of the water because there is a deformation. It is a lesson in perception between realism and abstraction, perhaps a search for something beyond the perceptible.
