I perceive green as a color that embodies peace of mind, rest, and the vitality of life, and I place it at the center of my practice. Contact us.I am a Korean painting artist living and working in Sejong, South Korea.
I explore the imagery of nature through the color green, using it as a central visual language to express inner landscapes. In my ongoing series, Landscape in My Heart, I focus not on the direct representation of nature, but on constructing pictorial spaces shaped by memory, emotion, and inner perception.
In my work, elements such as trees, plants, and flowers are unified through the color green, which functions as a symbolic image of nature. Through the simplification and reinterpretation of form, I create idealized spaces that transcend reality, aiming to evoke a sense of clarity, tranquility, and contemplation.
I build my surfaces on hanji paper using a mixture of red clay, sawdust, white pigment, and ink, and apply mineral pigments through repeated accumulations of dots, lines, and planes. Through this layered process, rich color depth and distinctive textures emerge, creating a quiet rhythm and a sense of balance throughout the composition.
Rooted in the materials and sensibilities of Korean painting, my work seeks to reveal the invisible landscapes that reside within the human heart. Through these imagined spaces, I invite viewers to experience nature not simply as an external scene, but as a presence that resonates within memory, emotion, and inner reflection.
