As an artist, I find the work of Rubens to be truly remarkable and universally admired. His figurative paintings exude a timeless beauty and a profound understanding of the human form. When I sketch some of his masterpieces, I feel a profound connection with his artistic talent and genius. Rubens' ability to translate emotions onto the canvas and create captivating compositions is truly awe-inspiring. Each stroke and detail in his work reveals a depth of creativity and a mastery of technique that continues to inspire artists across generations. Through immersing myself in the world of Rubens, I feel a sense of kinship with his artistic spirit, enabling me to approach my own craft with renewed inspiration and creativity. "Glimpses" not only pays homage to Rubens' timeless legacy but also captures the essence of the universal human form, leaving an indelible impression on all who encounter its mesmerizing allure.

Adopting a fluid approach that remains unbounded by style or form, Ali Hammoud’s works are a frequent reflection of the multifaceted artistic tuition he acquired in his formative years. Introduced to art at a young age by local enthusiasts in his neighbourhood in Beirut, he joined an academy of fine arts at 17 years of age, learning an assembly of artistic disciplines and technical competencies. At the commencement of the Lebanese Civil War in 1975, he relocated to the UK and studied at the Dunstable College of Art, spending four additional years training simultaneously in graphic design, advertising and visual art. Striving to create works that are equally as enduring, as they are deeply symbolic and highly introspective, Ali’s renderings are typically a direct consequence of his external conditions, changes to his primary perceptions and phases of his inner landscape. Influenced by his own early mark making on the canvas, these formations habitually lead to abstract configurations, that regularly integrate contemporary, figurative and surreal qualities. Less perturbed by the typical characteristics associated with aesthetic beauty, his creative works are primarily concerned with raising relevant questions and seeking the most candid of responses. Exhibiting since the early 1970s, Ali Hammoud’s works have appeared in group and solo settings, both in the United Kingdom and the Middle East, and are currently made available for online purchase via Saatchi Art. His art is presently featured in private collections throughout England, the United States, Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Lebanon and Kuwait.
