ABOUT THE ARTWORK

This artwork is an abstract impressionism composition with a vibrant mix of colors. It features dominant greens, reds, and blues hues, creating a lush and lively impression. The painting blends various textures and layers with splashes and strokes, evoking a sense of movement and natural growth. The overall effect is reminiscent of a lively landscape during the summer when all threes are in full glory. The style suggests an abstract impressionistic approach, focusing more on the colors' and textures' emotional and visual impact.

BIO: The journey began in the safety of a bunker during times of heightened conflict, where sketching became a means of escapism. Rooted in the chaos of war, Weeda predominantly used pencil and paper, reflecting the immediacy and simplicity of the medium in capturing moments of hope amid adversity. Since then, Weeda has continued exploring the transformative power of creativity as she sought refuge across continents. This journey has presented unique challenges that have shaped her perspective and fueled a profound connection to seemingly ordinary places. Navigating foreign landscapes, Weeda adopted the art of finding wonder in the mundane, using her viewfinder as a passport to unveil hidden mysticism in unexpected corners. The backyard in her North Texas home has transcended its role as a natural landscape, transforming into a profound reflection of her inner journey and a metaphor for the currents shaping our existence. STATEMENT: In my practice, the symbiotic relationship between subject matter and medium is a guiding principle that shapes the essence and form of each series of my work. Rather than adhering to a fixed medium, I allow the subject matter to dictate the tools and materials employed, resulting in a dynamic and adaptive creative process. My love for nature has grown into an obsession. Nature's steadfast presence and interconnectedness with all living things have become a boundless source of fascination. Whether the trees' silent collaboration underground or the coexistence among organisms, it mirrors humanity's potential for interconnectedness and mutual aid across borders. From the confines of my childhood bunker to the global junctures, my narrative unfolds as a testament to the profound connection between artistic expression and the threads that bind us all. As I continue to discover the delicate relationships of nature, my art intrinsically aligns with a fundamental reality: we are all connected.
