Courtney is an emerging abstract artist whose work centers on balance, intuition, and transformation—creating pieces that invite reflection and personal interpretation. Her work has been placed in private residences and select commercial spaces, including luxury homes and businesses across the US. She spent much of her adult life in New York City before relocating to Golden, Colorado, where she now works from a studio at the base of the foothills. A self-taught abstract artist and former classical ballerina, Courtney began painting after an injury brought her years of ballet training to a close. Art became her new form of physical and emotional expression, with principles rooted in dance—movement, balance, restraint, and release—continuing to shape the way she approaches the canvas. Her creative process is intuitive and reflective, approached as a practice of presence rather than control. While a piece may begin with a loose idea or feeling, it is allowed to evolve organically, often becoming something entirely unexpected. This openness to change is central to her work, honoring the possibility that emerges when outcome is released. Courtney creates work that invites viewers to bring their own experiences and interpretations into each piece. Her goal is for the painting to shift the energy of a space—offering a moment of connection and quiet impact, allowing both the room and the viewer to feel subtly transformed once the work enters. Before fully dedicating herself to painting, she worked in New York City as a brand marketer for iconic brands, an experience that sharpened her understanding of visual impact, composition, and emotional resonance.
