Art Description

Painting: Oil-paint, Oil-pastel, Primer, Marker pen on Paper, Wood.

43.5 x 63cm.

This abstract painting constitutes a diagram of the notion of sunspots, a natural phenomenon in which areas of the sun cool down, appearing as dark spots upon its surface. The idea of this process being a natural rhythm experienced repetitively over time is explored to an extent through my use of angled board, intended to evoke the idea of direction and movement - of sunspots appearing then disappearing as a natural process and pattern.
