How I perform my craft
Let me begin by highlighting the importance of my craft and its technique. Above all, I want my work be perceived from a purely aesthetic standpoint, where the techni- cal-aesthetical blend grows intriguing and visually alluring to the viewer. This is the source of a highly personal color range that dwells in and pervades every one of the spaces and planes that shape my work’s geometric forms. My palette adds unity and balance to the final image on the canvas and to the different pillars that underpin this very personal language–a clean, aesthetically accomplished color palette and an effective handling of a specific theory to match the technique.
My aesthetics
Based on both a style known as Hard Edge and the geometric shapes whereby I express an abstract, geometric language, statements emerge from a discourse that draws from Deconstructivism, which leads me to suggest spaces and geometric forms deconstructed down to an optical reality of the human eye. I rely on surrealism compositions to achieve architectural spaces and structures of a subconscious mind that turns into reality when captured by the viewer’s gaze. These various optical sen- sations spark off a myriad of unique, highly personal interpretations.
My artwork engages the viewer in a journey through states of placid tranquility, and the spaces where my pieces are set are meant to create a bond between the people around them and their spirituality. While I understand that art cannot thrive in a vacuum, as it cannot help but reflect the culture around it, my contribution to society lies in my work’s ability to pull the spectator away from noise and confusion and into a state of joyful bliss.
It is an aesthetico-social expression, an endeavor that influences the various states that form the connection between the spiritual world and the real world. I therefore wish to deliver a short, coherent statement as an introduction to my work.
