Surviving My Mental Illnesses Painting

(From my journal) This is a woman who will crack a joke to make anyone laugh. This is a woman who creates from the heart. This is a woman who cares a lot and loves deeply. This is a woman who will order chicken nuggets at a restaurant, while also wearing bright and colourful donut socks. This is a woman who loves meaningful connections. This is a woman who likes bad movies. This is a woman who will sing ridiculously while out in public. This is a woman who will do a really bad dance if it means putting a smile on someone’s face. This is a woman who is often seen smiling, but struggling within. This is a woman who has failed and who has succeeded. This is a woman who is healing. This is a woman who feels scared often. This is a woman that fights every single day to keep going. This is a woman who has depression and generalized anxiety disorder. This is a woman who hasn’t cried in months. This is a woman who feels completely drained. This is me, being real. Sharing the good and the difficult. Even though it’s been a heavy time for me, I will continue being the woman who doesn’t give up on myself. I will continue to fight, not matter what. I am a woman who is extremely grateful for the beautiful, strong, loving and inspiring people in my life. To all of the people in the world: No matter what you’re going through in life, please remember how badass you are. I see you, I’m proud of you, I’m here for you and I love you.
