I took the reference photo for this owl painting while I was on a birding outing here in Oregon. Spotting this Great Horned Owl in the wild took my breath away! It's such a majestic bird! While I was in awe, this beautiful owl was just relaxing and took a nap on a tree stump surrounded by the green of the pine trees.
