THE ACOLYTE is inspired by the West Hollywood gaybar and lounge THE ABBEY. An ecclesiastically-themed venue, The Abbey/Chapel is an iconic Los Angeles destination with a large and diverse congregation of devotees. The Acolyte is my interpretation of a choir boy/go-go dancer on his way to communion. A 16 inch by 20 inch oil on cradled panel by KENT 2018, THE ACOLYTE is an original work of art signed by the artist and is not a print or reproduction. I am inspired by the pinup works of Sorayama and my intent is to show male figures as pinup icons of masculinity. My figures have a distinct look to them and are known as KENTMEN. My paintings have been exhibited at the Leslie Lohman Museum in New York City and Tom of Finland in Los Angeles and I am part of their permanent collections. I have exhibited at the Los Angeles galleries Western Project, Antebellum and TAG. My artwork is collected internationally and has appeared in the publications MEN, BLUEBOY, IN TOUCH, DNA, TORSO, FRESHMEN, PLAYBOY, PLAYGIRL and THE ADVOCATE. I have a long history with eBay under the seller name cattarts which shows my dependability and care as a seller of my art. I package securely in a box with space around to insure no damage.
