Take on the World was inspired by the empowering feeling that you can rise up and embrace the challenges all around you in your life. If you have faith in yourself and in your abilities, then you can look at every challenge as a new opportunity and a new adventure. You can rise up to meet any challenge and overcome it. The blue colors evoke the transcendent feeling of gazing up into the vast sky and taking in the boundless possibilities that stretch out before you. The shining gold leaf in the painting represents not just golden sunlight, it also symbolizes living up to your potential. When you get in touch with your own power and embrace your strengths, you shine as a person. The composition of the painting deliberately breaks the paint out of the main shapes, to symbolize breaking through your own limits. When you give yourself permission to break loose and go after your greatest possibilities, you grow beyond what you thought were your limitations. You can take on the world.

“For me, abstract art can have a powerful organic and spiritual presence.” The art of Cynthia Ligeros incorporates impressionist elements that reveal an inner landscape to the viewer, an image at once familiar and transcendent. She seeks to explore our place in a world that we have created, yet one which also creates us. Her paintings often begin with a single driving emotion. From that, an image develops, inspired by the colors, cycles and feelings of the environment. Sunsets, moonscapes, flowers, the changing seasons — all of these are sources of inspiration, adding richness and layers of complexity to her paintings. Even industrial spaces and structures figure prominently in her work, contrasting the artifice of the cityscape against the limitless beauty of the sky. As she paints, she redefines the spaces around us and how they connect to our lives. Her artwork was recently acquired by Colorado Creative Industries for the newly remodeled Ketchum Arts and Sciences Building at CU Boulder. Her art has appeared at the Denver Mayor’s Residence, Denver International Airport, the Madden Museum, Denver Botanic Gardens, Professional Artist Magazine, FOX News, and galleries from San Francisco to New York City.
