ABOUT THE ARTWORK
When I came across this photo from the photographer Tamara Williams I couldn't help but be captivated by the strong profile of this model. She gazes off into the distance strong and feminine. To created this painting I first laid down a teal texture, then painted the portrait over the top and sanded it back to reveal the coloured texture underneath. This highly textured piece evokes a sense of layered nuance. Acrylic on wood panel Unframed, Sides are painted the same pink as the front, 24" x 24" Comes ready to hang, with hanging wire already attached. Because all screen displays vary, there might be a slight colour discrepancy, however, it is gorgeous. I can promise the quality of work I deliver is as beautiful as you’re expecting.

Hello there, I'm Criss Chaney, an American painter in Melbourne, Australia. I find inspiration in the layered city walls of Melbourne and the quiet strength of the women in my life. Utilising various collage and mark making techniques, I aim to bring these two elements together. Originally trained as a glass artist in the UK, I came to painting after a 7-year hiatus travelling the world. As an international artist, I've exhibited in many countries, including a solo show in Austria. Now I paint in my home studio, creating detailed and multi layered portraits. My art is my attempt to grasp what is going on in my own subconscious and is deeply personal, often incorporating sections of my own journals. When I'm not in the studio, you'll find me traveling or exploring the great outdoors, whether it's on a snowboard or a mountain bike.
