Tetrachromatic Loss Painting

My wife and I suffered a miscarriage of twins. This experience came with much pain and darkness. ⠀ It’s crazy how quick things can suddenly flip upside down. ⠀ I learned that I can never truly prepare and be ready for heartbreak, but I can control how I respond. ⠀ This painting was one of my responses. ⠀ Hummingbirds have four color cones in their eyes (compared to three in humans). This means they can see a lot more color than we can. ⠀ I’m extremely grateful for the color others helped put into our lives through simple acts of kindness. ⠀ I’d encourage anybody to help add color to life by helping someone in need. Quite simply, these two hummingbirds represent our two unborn children.
