Chinyere Akachukwu is a Contemporary artist currently living and working in Lagos, Nigeria. She has recently been deemed to be a narrative story telling Artist speaking on social and economics issues through her paintings She began her professional art journey in the winter of 2015 and has since been involved in some exhibitions globally. Chinyere's medium of choice is acrylic on canvas. She has created multiple paintings touching on themes of Society and Self. Her most recent works seek to inspire independent and conscientious thoughts in the assessment of society in present times. Her works have revolves to an exploration of society. Though a contemporary artist, Chinyere is deeply inspired by the expressionism style of painting. Her artworks seek to invoke subjective interpretations of her figurative expressions whilst passing strong messages that never quite leave the viewer. Her style of painting is more so unique as she has mastered the style of rough brush strokes to hint the emotional depth she experiences through the various stages of the preparation of the work. In 2019, she held her first solo exhibition titled ”The Works Of My Hands” which was aired on Nationwide channels for consecutive weeks in 2019/2020.Some of her other recent exhibitions include her solo exhibition at Terrakulture Art Gallery, Lagos, Nigeria themed I Love Me Too which held in February, 2020. She also participated in a group as well as an online Art Exhibition in December 2020 for the Feminist Art Museum. She has showcased her artworks at social events for promotion including the FOMO Lagos international women's day event on March 8, 2020, and the World Art day event at Ile Eros in Lagos organized by Tiger Beer Nigeria in April 2021. She featured as the Artist in Resident at the Miliki Living in October 2021, where she exhibited a series of works reflecting on the societal issues in the present-day times at a solo exhibition titled These Resent Times. Chinyere is presently represented by Jadé Art. In November 2021, she participated in a group exhibition which sought to push the boundaries of art traditional exhibition spaces, on the Jade Art Online Gallery. She is presently exhibiting on Jadé Art Online from November 18, 2022 until December 18, 2022 She is set to exhibit in a group exhibition at AMG Projects located in Lagos, Nigeria on December 18, 2022
