About The Artwork

In 1999, I was seriously injured in a car accident. Later, I created a series of 10 oil paintings that depicted symbolically my thoughts, emotions and beliefs about this accident, starting from right before the accident happened until afterwards, when in the hospital, I knew that I would be OK. The paintings were meant to be viewed like a storyboard, in order, from 1 to 10. This is the eighth painting in this series. This is a very emotional painting of my poor little car after the accident. I tried to portray it as a wounded hero, as I felt it had heroically sacrificed its life to save me. A small amount of paint has come off at the very top of the painting. It is not really noticeable and could be easily restored. The painting is unframed. The edges are neatly painted. It is wired and ready to hang.
