The Batik buffalo 20 Painting

My artwork represents animals with batik motif. Batik is a technique of wax-resist dyeing applied to whole cloth. The artwork series used various types of the Malaysian rain forest animals as subject to represent the fact of our multicultural society. Painted with our national costume pattern- The Malaysian Batik: a truly unique pattern formed by geometrical, leaves and flower designs. This batik series seeks to promote cross-cultural understanding that: We are all equal in the fact that we are different in shapes. We are unity by the reality that all cultures are distinct and individual. We do not share the same colour, but we share the same air that we breathe. The use of engraving in horn is because I want to be more appropriate to express "features" just like human fingerprints.
