HARUTO IMAMURA Haruto Imamura was born in Tokyo, in 1979, to a Japanese father and American mother of Irish/German descent. He grew up in Japan, Africa and the Washington D.C. area. Imamura Received a B.F.A. in performing arts at Adelphi University. He began to paint as a way to find solace in art away from the collaborative worlds of film and theater. Imamura has had several solo shows including, "L'Ange Noir" at the Fischbach Gallery in NYC and "The Fatted Calf" at the Vera Cruz Gallery in Washington D.C. He has also been selected as the Ovation TV featured member and had his artwork published in Anthology of Friends, Volume 9, by Michael Riffel. Upcoming shows include "The Dawn of Dusk" at the private Norwood Club in NYC. His paintings can be found in private collections across the USA. Imamura currently splits his live/work time between NYC and D.C. "Conceptual Deconstruction" I meticulously study subjects or concepts until their familiarity becomes "second nature." Then, using my hands, fire and, carving tools, I let go of the information as it pours out of me instinctually through the paint. Once the concept is deconstructed to a primal/abstract level, it is accessible to anyone without preconceived structure. Therefore, giving the viewer the power to create their own personal and genuine experience with the art. This intimate interaction allows the piece to live through the reincarnations of each person's imagination.
