ABOUT THE ARTWORK
The Bride was inspired by colourful and decorative Indian horse costumes that accompany special festivals and events. Similarly, it can also remind us of Indian brides' costumes and jewellery. The canvas is primed with brass golden leaves and painted with oil paint. The painting is "alive" in the sense it reflects the lighting of the space it inhabits and changes with it. It looks different in the morning, midday or the evening. It also changes with the weather, artificial lighting and so on.

Lara Ješe
Slovenia
Lara Ješe is a visual artist living and working in Kranj, Slovenia. She doesn’t stick to a particular style or a medium, but most of her production resides in figurative painting. Colder and darker tones from her earlier work with animal motifs have made way for increasingly saturated colours and strong, bold shapes. In 2016 she acquired her MFA at the Academy of Fine Arts in Ljubljana, Slovenia, and also studied at the HGB Leipzig in Germany. She has exhibited in solo and group shows internationally, most notably in Slovenia, Switzerland, Germany, and the USA.
