About The Artwork
Inspired by the title of the war poem of Laurence Binyon which starts with the poet burning the autumn leaves in his garden. The poem is in 5 parts and moves on to the London of 1942 with death and destruction all around . Everything he treasures is either destroyed or shut down for the duration and he mourns the state of civilisation and the fragile future of mankind - disappering in smoke and flames like the fallen leaves.
