The cat lady -single Painting

The cat lady -single Freshly arrived in Israel, Tel Aviv, starting a brand new Life, I discovered a new side of womanhood. It might be connected to the age range (30’s), might be related to what my friends were living and were building stories around this state of mind. Being a single in their 30’s, looking for idealistic relationship and applying their never spoken rules to anything or anyone. From my position, it became a joke, as if each women would play slot machine with the same reaction to any encounter. Loneliness was the real reason why you would treat a pineapple, a meal, a cat the same way as if it was someone? This woman figure, transformed into a vector and applied to all items available. Always interesting to see the evolution of social life in different contexts and cultures. As much as random dates became a big part of our culture, the lack of emotional balance grew simultaneously. Encouraged by social media, it becomes a trend to show yourself with what you own, what can add value to your emptiness. I wish the viewer can appreciate the allegory and eventually give this cat lady some company and smile with her. this painting then inspired me two different series: the other women, paintings, illustrations, street art and woman as pattern which also came out with different format and circumstances.
