Series of four paintings, each 48" x 48", entitled "The Chair In 4 Parts." Inspired by Andy Warhol's pop art portraits, the artwork uses a chair as a metaphor for the stages of a life well lived. A chair at the Point Reyes Lighthouse museum, well worn and unnoticed in the corner, sparked thoughts about the life of this chair - what it had witnessed, the long hours of duty and responsibility and how these experiences had both shaped its appearance and changed over time. The pink background color continues around the edges of the gallery wrapped canvas. -Thanks for looking!
