The Coldest Season Painting

There's a tree on Hampstead Heath I came across after it been struck by lightning round about the same time when my flatmate found out that his father had died in a car accident. These events where the main inspiration for this scene in what proved to be a very cold winter. What I hope people will get is a philosophical moment, standing still and reflecting on life going through the seasons as we age and mature every year. The tree looks on fire in a frozen black and white landscape, where a lone figure seems to look for warmth.
