ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Initially I was inspired by the interesting attractiveness of these extraordinary birds and then on further investigation I learnt about their plight against extinction. They are a vital link in the eco system and need to be valued and celebrated. I was moved to try to capture their unique spirit. I like to use pencil and watercolour to make expressive marks and textures that give life to the subject. I hope the viewer will find the image striking and interesting and feel the soul of the creature.
