This innate talent for drawing has been a constant in my life. The search for comprehending the human being essence has been motivating me to daily leave home with a sketchbook at hand and eventually with a voice recorder as well. Registering thoughts and impressions for so as a way to sometimes turn it out into canvasses. In certain moments taking it to another level, elaborating it into more in-depth ideas and detailed images to be reconfigured later on in a new plan of insertion. The urge to concretize this intricate search led me to the field of plastic arts, more specifically to the painting and the wood engraving plat. Artists and their pieces are constant labeled as a prerequisite to better indoctrinate their public. I do not set out to produce art about one subject or another in special. My work tends to focus on interfering with preconceived structures and controlling the consequences that this new ligatures produce on the entire arrangement. Be those figurative or abstract themes, the main goal is to redirect the spectator's look towards a new conception, dimension to be investigated. Some past reviews have tagged my work as a figurative and abstract expressionism. While flattering and to a degree on point, I claim to be an interposer of what is expressed. I am an organic tool that puts the "fly in the soup", someone that creates the disturbance. Yet I always try to depict a positive message too. I persist in claying the nature; ordering and disordering the elements congruously. My primary intention is to be the mean that inserts necessarily some harmony in the middle of the chaos and vice-versa. Following the example of the Universe itself; since the beginning of the times it has been all about transformation. You might ask me what it is about. What am I up to? I am here to experience and allow my akin to mostly live through my eyes this adaptation and progression. Hence, since what is in constant transfiguration cannot be stated, I state that I am here to interact with my equals. I am here to see through and beyond this world and its rules. Here to fragment it, groove on and face the consequences of it. Each person takes something a little differently from the same picture and I am happy with the possibility to explore Keila Dias - The Artist. Born in 1974, country side Sao Paulo, Brazil. Graduated on Industrial Design, major in Visual Communications from Fundação Armando Ãlvares Penteado/ FAAP in 1998.
