Let's let the sunshine daydream, okay? It's only right. Who hasn't flown dangerously close to the sun a few times? I know I have. Who hasn't dipped their toes in the cool surf even after you've been told not to do so? I know I have. Who doesn't get just a little bit wild sometimes? As for Greek Mythology, Daedalus never wanted his Prophecy to come true. He was a wicked smart inventor and architect and quite the problem-solver. (Heck; he figured out how to fly way back in the day!) Despite his love, warnings, and best intentions for his son when they were escaping captivity, Icarus was unable to control his reckless nature and his willingness to tempt fate. He flew a little bit too close to the sun, one darn time, and now he's branded forever as some kind of loose cannon who just wouldn't listen to his father. Let's give the kid a break, eh? Maybe it was just bad luck... If Icarus had only estimated his distance to the sun more accurately that day, we might be telling stories of "Icarus: The Greatest Explorer and Adventurer of All Time" (and founder of the Ancient X-Games.) This painting will brighten up any room and should be hung where it will be seen and enjoyed daily. The Daedalus Prophecy has an extreme painterly texture but try to avoid touching it.
