"The Earth Awaits" a surreal piece .Winter for us in the northern Hemisphere means that the days shorten, light is scarce and the temperature drops. . When this happens plants stop growing and lose their green leaves and foliage, birds fly south for the winter, some animals hibernate and the long wait for Spring begins. I sometimes wish to retreat from the world and become dormant like the natural world. This painting " The Earth Awaits" sybolises this mood of retreat and waiting - The moon continues to shine and life goes on but the earth waits in sleep.. .
