About The Artwork
I chose to paint Marilyn Monroe with the goal of capturing her essence, innocence, and glamour. I chose a 48x48 canvas because an icon and legend like her self needed to be on a larger piece. If I could fit larger canvas in my home I would. I kept her black and white to maintain the old Hollywood vibe while giving her a little edge with her rich sultry red lipstick. I hope the viewer feels her love for the camera, the fame, while simultaneously seeking to be loved. -Alexander Peuchot
