Being the first domino is affecting change by speaking up, so I have decided to raise my daughter to speak and not mumble. You see the system and the people are counting on the silence of young girls and women to keep them exactly where they. So this art work titled ‘’ The First Domino” serves as a reminder to mothers, father, uncles, and future husbands like me to raise their daughters to speak up and be the first domino, cus before a lot of dominos fall one has to fall first, with then leaves the others no choice but to do the same…….. My aim is to let young girls and women know that in a world the wants you to whisper, you should chose to yell….

Fawaz Sakaw aka Jogbeley is a visual artist born in Togo and raised in Accra, Ghana. And the first born from a family of five (5) Jogbeley became interested in Art as a career after Secondary School. Around that time he was doing pencil portraiture as a hobby. Jogbeley started painting with Acrylics in 2020 during the Pandemic, Prior to that he did pencil portraits on commission for about months after Secondary.
