"The Grabber" Painting

Hello I'm Heather. Thank you for your interest in my art. I'm a retired dental Hygienist that found art after experiencing a heart attack and a stroke at the age of 46. It helped me cope while I dealt with the stigma and trauma of having a heart attack/stroke in the prime of my life. I've had to learn to slow down and not take things too seriously. My paintings reflect emotions, usually from my childhood. I remember using books and my imagination as a child to escape to my safe place in my head, away from the horrid things I saw, experienced as a child. Things that I had put to the back of my mind but the trauma of my health scares opened up a can of worms that I'm learning to accept and move on from. I am currently working on a new body of work that I am hoping to list for sale on here soon. If you read to the bottom of this I thank you from the bottom of my heart for your interest. X My paintings can be found in homes in New York, London, California, Europe etc In 2024 I exhibited at the prestigious Venice Biennale at the Palazzo Bembo in 2024 along with the Proseed Collective. I have exhibited in various venues around Cumbria. I have featured in The Global Art Times magazine May 2023. Selected as "One to Watch" Oct 2020 by Saatchi Art online. My work can be seen in several public buildings in Carlisle.
