ABOUT THE ARTWORK
Calligraphy and typography are themes of this work, which is inspired by medieval calligraphy, Renaissance typography, typographic design, graffiti, street signs, Antoni Tàpies, David Linch and Mira Shendel. On a piece of loose canvas I developed the design of the letters, using a stencil, brush, pencil and calligraphic pen. Color gradually emerged as the typographic composition demanded. I added some textual elements of Jorge Luis Borges' literature, such as mirrors and labyrinths.
