Created from hand painted push pins on the Ben Day dot grid, this work explores the ides of finding yourself immersed in a dense birch tree grove. The depth and contrast of the pins allows your eye to explore deeper into the art. The trees painted further in the distance are created with hand painted small round tacks to allow your mind to perceive a stronger sense of depth as these are much smaller. As you move around this work you see more colors beneath and this changes the tone and texture of the overall piece. Comprised of 4 individual panels it allows the piece to be enjoyed and hung as one complete work of to be broken up and hung individually in several different locations or any other manner or layout that best suits the space. Encased with Art glass this work is UV protected and has a reduction of both the green element found in standard glass as well as minimal reflection so it can be enjoyed from many angles while remaining protected.

My name is Matthew Adamczyk, I am a self taught artist residing in Chicago. Prior to establishing my career as a painter I was a Principle Ballet Dancer. Having a profound love and a natural curiosity for all aspects of art, I am exploring many ideas as to what art can be through painting. My career dancing and performing on stage has triggered a sense of depth, light and shadow, perception and layers in art. My paintings focus on multiple layers of color to create a mix of tone, contrast and depth that constantly change as the art is viewed from different angles. I achieve this by hand painting thousands of push pins and plotting them on a Ben Day dot grid to establish the subject matter. The background area is painted but left without the presence of pins to create additional depth. Inspired by the Pop and Graphic artists before me I try and keep each piece bright, whimsical, and full of life and energy.
