The Here and Now Painting

In an easy moment lunching anywhere in London the first studies for this work came into being. The painting features all the best of my drawing skills. The artistic process in the studio was about wrapping things up in an easy moment of openness. Period. By quality and appearance the work is real panel painting. A panel of two layers of beaver board is backed by a solid pine wood frame. The support is made by a blind joiner, who by this works with the touch of his hands and a lot of self improvised helping gear. This affects the colors of the chosen material and adds to the rustic character of my B-sides. This time you find some wormholes in the frame—worms gone long since—two blueing beams and a cutout by a fall of the joiner's hands—not affecting stability and accepted and liked by the artist. It's one the last works of the joiner – my father after a long heartwarming collaboration.
