Shannon Idzikowska is an abstract artist who lives in Hackney Wick, East London. Tangible swaths of oil paint created with palette knives are characteristic of her early work, imbibing bright colours amongst the deepest of themes. Over the years, she branched into formative acrylics, mixed media, and paper works. A practitioner of Advaita zen Buddhism, her paintings imbibe depth with a spontaneous and playful attitude. Genres, resting in her heart, range from the universe and cosmos, to Hindu symbolism and deities, ancient tribalism and consciousness, to fragrant free-flowing colours and shapes on the canvas. She is self-taught as an artist and paints as a way to keep open the gates of perception.
