I fell in love with the strong Lone Cypress during a visit to Pebble Beach with my brother. It inspired me to create a series of paintings with this motif, inspired by both the healing calmness and invigorating turbulence of the elements that surround us.

Helen Wickman

About the Artist

Helen Wickman

United States

Finding her passion for art at an early age, Helen Wickman sold her first oil painting in Lebanon at the age of 15.

After working at the United Nations in Beirut and traveling extensively in her youth, Helen honed her craft as an artist in Sweden, working with murals, portraits, textiles and clay, as well as running a company that manufactured and sold traditional folk-art articles. She soon became the main supplier of traditional folk-costume dolls and cards to Skansen; the world’s oldest open air museum, located in the heart of Stockholm. She was thrilled to be recognized for her work by the Queen of Sweden, Her Royal Highness, Queen Silvia.

In the early 90’s, she brought her family and her creative passion to beautiful Santa Monica, California, quickly establishing herself as a muralist and commissioned artist dedicated to spreading beauty, joy and vibrancy through her art.
