ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Oil on Canvas 4 by 4 feet This painting documents a very vivid dream I had a few years ago. I dreamt I was walking alone on a snowy, starry night. I was getting very cold when I noticed a crevice between two rocks. Getting onto my belly, I was able to roll myself underground. I could hear jazz music, and looking around I saw that I was in a sort of underground cafe. Travellers were sitting together in little nooks where they could whisper to each other. They were meeting in their dreams. All around me, people were making mysterious connections, dancing together, remembering each other, telling each other's fortunes. As it is in dreams, sometimes I could feel and recognize someone without being able to see their features. They were veiled in a kind of dream-like mystery. New dreamers kept entering and leaving, whispering and departing. I've dreamed myself back there a few times since, and I highly reccomend that you visit.

SHIPPING AND RETURNS
Delivery Time:

Typically 5-7 business days for domestic shipments, 10-14 business days for international shipments.

The images I create are dreamlike, childlike, and designed to present the mystery and importance of ordinary objects in every day moments. This is my way of expressing the tenderness and awe I feel when confronted with the rawness of being in the here and now and my experience with the beauty, warmth, difficulty and ugliness of the world. My favourite mediums are physical and immediate. I enjoy working with graphite, ink, acrylic, oil, watercolour and spray paint, fabric scraps and markers. Drawing is a very important part of my process and my finished works reflect my love of flowing lines and bold, flat shapes. I am influenced by the world in all its colour, texture, form, elements, shapes and good deeds; in all its complexity, tragedy, oppression, and hypocrisy; and by the work of Gao Xingjian, Marlene Dumas, Luc Tuymans, and Matisse.
