The Old Barn Painting

This is my painting of an Old Barn which is located in the village were I live. We always go passed it when we take the dogs for a walk. I painted it in Acrylic paints on a Hessian canvas. I like the course open weave on Hessian. I like to stretch my own canvas over frames that I make myself. I think it gives my work character, instead of using mass produced materials. I try to make my paintings as true to life as I can. Although this does take some considerable time to achieve, I like how the barn has gone to ruin and nature has taken over.
