ABOUT THE ARTWORK
The fifth drawing of the session had me checking my paper to see if I was painting on the back as the others had felt like painting on blotting paper. This is a risk I run with Khadi as it varies considerably in quality from sheet to sheet. This page thankfully had a nice waxiness to it that held a soaking and kept the colours on the surface. Maybe a little dark in skin tone but it was late in the evening with the natural light fading rapidly. The single spotlight gave good contrast however. A good, still model with a serene expression.

I am a figurative and portrait artist working in a variety of media. My nudes are drawn in soluble graphite on handmade paper, painted over with watercolour, this blends the line work and underpins the colour. I also paint in oils on stretched canvas or board. I am been taking online portrait commissions, both nude and traditional. I have also recently discovered a love for landscape au plain air that has surprised me immensely. My recent work has also included still lives of magnified Horse Chestnuts. I am an Associate Member of the Royal Cambrian Academy of Art.
