ABOUT THE ARTWORK
This painting is based on a photo taken by the artist, and was painted entirely on the pictured ship (Queen Mary 2) during its Christmas cruise '19/'20. The photo was taken in the early morning in July '18, when the artist camped on Staten Island near the bridge. At 4 AM he woke up to walk down to the water's edge in flip-flops, on a path that was flip-flop inappropriate. He took the photo because his wife and daughter were returning from 6 weeks abroad visiting family in Bulgaria.
