"Good-morning, beautiful creature! What a charming creature she is! How her feathers shine! What a beautiful form and what splendid wings! Such a wonderful Bird should have a very lovely voice, since everything else about her is so perfect. Could she sing just one song, I know I should hail her Queen of Birds," said the Fox. Crow opened her beak wide to utter her loudest caw, and down fell the cheese straight into the Fox's open mouth. "Thank you," said Master Fox sweetly, as he walked off. "Though it is cracked, you have a voice sure enough. But where are your wits?"

I am searching while painting and making visual decisions directly in the process. It is visceral, and anything feels possible. My love for nature and animals are never far from hand. Images become meditations on movement, they turn to folklore, science and the sacred. I feel like they are sometimes a counterweight to a world of despair, and why I persist. Joseph’s work highlighted by Rachael Thomas, Senior Curator of the Museum of Modern Art (Dublin) was chosen for the competitive Curate-NYC. His published works include Macmillan Learning and About Place Journal. Laurro exhibits locally and nationally, including; The Mercer Gallery, Arts Gowanus, Samuel Dorsky Museum of Art, Greenpoint Gallery, Arts on the Ave-NYC and Local Projects. Joseph is an educator in NYC public schools and resides in Brooklyn, NY.
