I am a UK-based contemporary wildlife artist based in the South Hams are of Outstanding Natural Beauty in the South Devon. My work focuses on capturing the beauty of British mammals and birds, using acrylic wash, pen, and graphite to highlight their connection to the landscapes they inhabit. I often depict animals featured in the UK Rewilding movement, and some of the subjects I return to again and again are Deer, Brown hares, Foxes, and Barn owls, as well as the quiet magic of full moon we all love so much. A recurring theme in my work is the interplay of animals within their environment. I'm a very spiritual person, and am always looking for the deeper meaning behind things - in my creative practice this is expressed through washes and connecting lines that visually evoke the relationship and interplay between species, their habitats and the viewer. The intricate detailing of my subjects aims to invite viewers into the quiet world of Britain’s wildlife, encouraging a deeper appreciation for these creatures and their ecosystems. I studied Fine Art and the History of Art at the University of York, which helped shape my understanding of both artistic technique and the cultural importance of nature in art. My work has been well-received internationally, with pieces finding homes across the globe. Through my art, I strive to celebrate the extraordinary beauty of the natural world while emphasising the importance of preserving these species and their habitats for future generations. Have a lovely wander through my website, and remember to get out into nature - it really does help with most things!
