Artist's Statement
My art is a conversation with the world—a visual record of the questions, tensions, and hopes that shape our lives today. Through bold color, layered textures, and a blend of abstraction, figuration, and symbolism I reveal contemporary culture: its energy, its contradictions, and its urgent need for reflection.

Working in textured, mixed-media abstraction, I build surfaces through an evolving process of accumulation and disruption. Fragments of color, line, and text emerge and recede, echoing the way experience is formed—not as a single narrative, but as a series of overlapping moments.

What appears chaotic is actually carefully balanced, reflecting the tension between order and disorientation in how we process the world around us.

I am particularly interested in how visual information is absorbed, altered, and remembered over time. Each layer both reveals and obscures what came before, creating a visual language that mirrors the instability—and resilience—of perception.

These works invite close looking. My personal vocabulary of iconography that repeat throughout my collections have deeper meaning than at first glance, and always reward those who read the stories behind each painting to see the depth.



Some Background:
Now a self-taught artist living in Atlanta, I grew up in the urban wonders of New York City. Despite my innate inclination toward art and everything craft-related, I chose to study business, receiving an MBA degree and then carving a niche for myself as a freelance small business and non-profit design consultant and graphic designer.

Ten years into my freelance career, and four children later, I launched the Storysquares© handmade wall-decor product line and parlayed that into a new position of internationally licensed artist. It was at that point I decided to try combining my illustration skills with my love for abstract painting.

Drawing inspiration from the whole abstract expressionist movement (I love Rothko, Krasner, Frankenthaler, Twombly, etc!), I know painting to be an emotional act that requires the artist to dive deep into their feelings. My unique visual narrative extends from a foundation of bold color that is then given life through subtler layers and countless marks until a story begins to evolve.
